my partner and i had a lovely 2-night stay at middle flass. the hosts, joan and nigel, were so welcoming with coffee and cake, which was a great touch after our journey. our double room was comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed. the breakfast was excellent, we even had to request smaller portions for the next day! really recommend their fantastic hospitality.

the only mild critique was that the room was a bit noisy at times.

The food was exceptional, especially the breakfast cooked by Nigel, served hot by Joan, it really gave us the energy for the day ahead. Plus, after a long wedding, we enjoyed unwinding in the cosy lounge with a well-stocked bar, which made the night more enjoyable for those who could sip on drinks.

It wasn’t exactly a bargain, but you can’t put a price on good memories.

We enjoyed our stay here as we loved the charming breakfast and the lovely rooms in the annex, making our experience even better with its proximity to diverse attractions like Gisburne Park and St Peter and St Paul's Church for easy afternoon walks.

We enjoyed relaxing in the lovely garden and the cozy TV lounge when we weren't indulging in the amazing dinners cooked by Nigel. Joan and Nigel made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm hospitality, and the cozy lounge provided a perfect spot to unwind post-dinner. If I had to mention an area for improvement, it would be the soundproofing between rooms.

Rooms are spotless and well-equipped, featuring ample storage, tea and coffee facilities, and color televisions. The restaurant offers an impressive menu with locally sourced dishes, like Nigel's famed chips and delicious hot buttered shrimps, making each meal a highlight of the stay.

Wi-Fi proved to be sluggish and erratic, which can be frustrating considering the secluded location where entertainment options are somewhat limited. The décor felt dated in places, hinting at the lodge's age, and there were occasional hiccups with hot water availability that required a quick call to address. While the common areas were quaint, they sometimes felt cramped during busier times, making socializing a bit tense.
